Scott Meyers is more than a candidate for Congress — he's a lifelong Southern California resident, small business owner, mentor, and committed member of his community.
I'm running for Congress because our country is at a turning point and we need Republicans who will fight, lead, and deliver.
I was raised by a grammar school teacher and a minister. We were poor at times, later lower middle class. I started working at 14 years old. I was raised on personal responsibility, discipline, hard work, and love of country. Those values shaped who I am.
I grew up watching the Democratic Party move away from fairness and opportunity and toward overregulation, heavy taxation, and cultural agendas that weaken families and divide Americans. Then came Ronald Reagan, who reminded this country that it's okay to be proud of America — to believe in strength, freedom, and moral clarity. That belief in American exceptionalism has guided me ever since.
Rooted in the Community
Scott is a proud graduate of Simi Valley High School, where he lettered in track as a sprinter — an experience that taught him discipline, endurance, and the value of hard work.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from UCLA and went on to attend Pepperdine Law School. Scott passed the California Bar on his first attempt and has practiced civil law for 37 years. For 26 years, he has been a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
As a small business owner, Scott understands firsthand the pressures facing entrepreneurs — rising costs, regulation, payroll, and taxes. He knows what it means to sign the front of a paycheck.
Scott has also been a homeowner since 1989. Throughout his career, he has provided free legal services to those in need. He has been active in L.A. and Burbank politics, pushing back on the socialist agendas that threaten our communities.
Family & Relationships
Scott has been in a committed relationship for eight years and values loyalty and family.
He is the proud godfather of adorable three-year-old twin girls who keep him laughing and remind him why the future matters. He grew up playing on his church softball team and believes community starts locally — in neighborhoods, houses of worship, and friendships.
Civic Leadership
Scott believes leadership requires action. He was one of the chief proponents of the Nithya Raman Recall effort, challenging Congresswoman Laura Friedman on her poor policy judgment. He believes in standing up for accountability and local representation when the community is not being served.
He has never been afraid to take principled stands. Scott is actively pushing back on the dangerous cultural agendas that threaten our values, and he welcomes any discussion of diverse points of view.
Beyond Politics
When he's not practicing law or meeting with voters, Scott enjoys staying active and exercising regularly. He enjoys all forms of music, hikes regularly to the Hollywood Sign, loves cooking, and appreciates a competitive game of Scrabble. He also enjoys trips to Chinatown and weekend getaways to Palm Desert.
Scott believes character matters. Work ethic matters. Integrity matters. His life reflects the values he wants to bring to Congress: accountability, perseverance, and a commitment to serving others.
