Candidate Bio
Short Bio (for publications)
Scott Alan Meyers is a Republican candidate for the United States House of Representatives in California's 30th Congressional District. A lifelong Southern Californian, Meyers is an attorney with 37 years of civil law experience who passed the California Bar on his first attempt after earning his law degree from Pepperdine University. He holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from UCLA and is a proud graduate of Simi Valley High School.
As a small business owner and 26-year member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Meyers brings real-world experience with the pressures facing working families and entrepreneurs. His campaign centers on affordability, border security, taxpayer accountability, education reform, reviving the motion picture industry, and restoring American strength.
Extended Bio
Scott Meyers was raised by a grammar school teacher and a minister. His family was poor at times, later lower middle class. He started working at 14 years old and was raised on faith, discipline, hard work, and love of country. Those values shaped who he is.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from UCLA and went on to attend Pepperdine Law School, passing the California Bar on his first attempt. For 37 years he has practiced civil law, and for 26 years he has been a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
As a small business owner, Scott understands firsthand the pressures facing entrepreneurs — rising costs, regulation, payroll, and taxes. He knows what it means to sign the front of a paycheck.
Scott has been in a committed relationship for eight years and is the proud godfather of three-year-old twin girls. He was one of the chief proponents of the Nithya Raman Recall effort and has challenged Congresswoman Laura Friedman on her policy judgment. He has never been afraid to take principled stands.
Outside of law and politics, Scott stays active, plays the piano, and enjoys competitive Scrabble. He believes character matters, work ethic matters, and integrity matters.
